Jo Ann Harding

Jo Ann “Suzie” Harding, 81, of Canonsburg, died peacefully Friday, November 17, 2017, in her home, with family by her side.

She was born February 29, 1936, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of John and Nelda Rodgers Harding.

Ms. Harding was a 1953 graduate of Brentwood High School.

She worked as regional secretary for Westinghouse Credit in Mt. Lebanon for 20 years.

Ms. Harding was a member of Washington Country Club and a former Lady Elk of Pittsburgh South Hills Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 2213 in Bethel Park.

Surviving are her partner and companion of 17 years, Frank Serra; a daughter, Karen Tortorice (Phillip) of Bethel Park; a son, Jeffrey Stroop (Debbie) of Eighty Four; three grandchildren, Ginelle Kemmerling, Caitlin Kemmerling (Jason) and Justina Hickey (Jim); and two great-grandchildren, Bryson Kemmerling and Ian Hickey.

Deceased are her husband, Frank Hallam, who died June 7, 1987, and a brother, Jack Harding.

Dr. Gur Adhar and nurse Sue Davis provided Ms. Harding with 23 years of excellent care and helped keep her going.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m., the time of service, Monday, November 20, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. Interment will be private.
