Madeline Moore
Madeline “Ruth” Moore, 89, of Spraggs, formerly of Brave, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017, in Rolling Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Waynesburg, following a brief illness.
She was born November 18, 1928, in Jakes Run, W.Va., a daughter of the late Simmie and Bessie Huff Eddy.
She was a 1946 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School.
She enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching jets in the sky. She loved flowers, feeding and watching the birds at her house and talking on the phone to friends and relatives. Above all, spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren were her favorite pastimes.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald “Dick” (Kim) Moore of Spraggs and Vernon (girlfriend Lynn Bosle) Moore of Brave; five grandchildren, Kevin Moore, Michael (Lisa) Moore, Heather (Randall) Orndoff, Joe (Melody) Moore and Whitney (Travis) Holmes; six great-grandchildren, Mercedes and Tyler Orndoff, Hunter (Ashley) Moore, Tobie Moore, Britney Moore and Lizzie Moore and BJ and Marcia Davis, whom she considered to be her grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Bedilion of Graysville and Pearl Stoneking of Wayne Township; a daughter-in-law, Lou Moore of Brave; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a son, Donald Moore; a granddaughter who passed in infancy; four brothers, James, Kenneth, Floyd “Stub” and Billy Eddy; and three sisters, Wildene Brummage, Dorothy Walker and Emma Jane Cole.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC, 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 27, with Judy Rastoka officiating. Interment will follow in Phillips Cemetery, Spraggs.
