Judith “Judy” Lynne Yater, 68, of Washington, died Friday, November 24, 2017, in her home.

She was born, April 15, 1949, in Washington, a daughter of the late John L. Baer and Gladys M. Haught Baer.

Ms. Yater was a graduate of Trinity High School and then worked in Washington County’s Prothonotary Office for more than 30 years, where she retired as deputy prothonotary.

She was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed doing various crafts.

Ms. Yater’s grandchildren were her world and she attended every sporting and school event. Her grandchildren lovingly referred to her as “Grandma Judy.”

Surviving are a son, Paul E. (Lynne) Yater III of McDonald; a brother, John (Debbie) Baer of Washington; and four grandchildren, Peyton, Logan, Lainey and Preston.

Deceased is a brother, Robert Haught.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, with Rev. Joel VanBriggle officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
