Roger Allen Cogar

Roger Allen Cogar, 55, of Marianna, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born February 15, 1962, in Buckhannon, W.Va., a son of Harry Denver and Wilda Jean Nitz Cogar of Marianna.

After graduating from Trinity High School in 1980, he attended Rosedale Technical Institute, where he studied diesel mechanics.

Mr. Cogar worked all over the United States as a journeyman carpenter for Construx LLC.

One of his favorite pastimes was spending time fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a fiancée, Peggy Sue Warnick, with whom he shared a home; a daughter, Summer Rose Cogar of Greene County; four siblings, Denver E. “Denny” (Debbie) Cogar of Claysville, Denise Rose Robison of Marianna, Harry D. “Joe” (Tracy) Cogar II of Washington and Rodney Dale Cogar of Marianna; a grandson, Castiel Radjeraric; eight nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to noon, the time of service, Monday, December 4, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Arnold Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
