Geraldine “Gerry” Stewart, 95, of Waynesburg, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, with her family by her side, in Rolling Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation, Waynesburg.

Born June 4, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Hicey Ray and Ada Hamilton Stewart.

Miss Stewart was a 1941 graduate of Rogersville High School. She attended Mason Felix Beauty School and was employed as a beautician in Waynesburg and Washington. She was also a cashier at A&P Grocery and Acme Grocery in Waynesburg for 28 years, until retiring in 1976.

She was a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church, where she played the piano and was a Sunday school teacher and the church clerk. She loved animals. Her dogs were her faithful companions.

Surviving are a nephew, Carl Tustin of Waynesburg; a great-niece, Carla (Dave) Jacobs of Graysville; a great-nephew, Travis (Tracy) Tustin of Waynesburg; a great-great-niece, Ashley Rogers of Graysville; and a great-great-nephew, Tyler Rogers of Graysville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nelrose S. Tustin and Helen Marie Stewart.

Friends may be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC, 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 4, with the Rev. Scott A. Blair III officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township.
