Leopold M. Regal
Leopold M. Regal, 92, of Fairhope, Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully Friday, October 20, 2017, in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown.
He was born December 5, 1924, in Fairhope, Fayette County, a son of the late John Regal and Adella Gugenberger Regal.
Mr. Regal was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII as a coxswain. For his service, he received the American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal.
He was a 64-year member of American Legion Post 659, Belle Vernon, and a member of Belle Vernon Moose Lodge.
Mr. Regal retired from U.S. Steel, Clairton Works.
His passions were photography, boating, Mon Valley history and trains.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Della Ryder Regal; five nephews, Walter Regal and wife Dolly, Ed Antol and wife Debbie, Nick Antol, Ron Regal and wife Patty and Tony Regal and wife Angela; a niece, Nicole Gillock and husband Eugene; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, John Regal and Adella Gugenberger Regal, are a sister, Ann Regal Antol, and two brothers, Joseph and Walter Regal.
Family and Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Eley-McCrory Funeral Home Inc., 334 Main Street, Fayette City, PA. 724-326-5621, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 25. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
