Gladys M. Goroncy, 94, of Scenery Hill, died at 2:32 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, in Strabane Woods, South Strabane Township.

She was born December 1, 1922, in Washington, a daughter of the late Roy and Goldie E. Fuller McBride.

Mrs. Goroncy was a homemaker.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.

She enjoyed gardening of flowers and vegetables, cooking, baking and sewing.

Mrs. Goroncy fostered over 32 children, treating them as her own. She enjoyed her family to the fullest.

On September 5, 1950, she married George J. Goroncy, who died February 13, 2000.

Surviving are a son, George D. (Victoria) Goroncy of Scenery Hill; two daughters, Joan (Robert) Kitchell of Canonsburg and Barbara Griest of Fairmont, W.Va.; a brother, Harry McBride of Washington; seven grandchildren, George J. Goroncy, Michael D. (Danielle) Goroncy, Shannon Griest, Samuel Griest, Brittany Griest, Nicole Scheletsky and Eric Scheletsky; three great-grandchildren, Michael Goroncy, Tucker Goroncy and Peyton Goroncy; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are four brothers, Ralph, Harold, Walter and Roy McBride; and four sisters, Anna Wyland, Stella Munchie, Margaret Kimble and Ruth Razvoza.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 31. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, South Strabane Township.
