Jean A. Medved
Jean A. Medved, 91, of Marianna, died Friday, October 27, 2017, in Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital.
She was born August 16, 1926, in Marianna, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Serenta Fien.
Mrs. Medved attended West Bethlehem schools. She was a homemaker and worked at Hazlett’s Dairy Bar in Marianna.
She was a member of Sts. Mary and Ann Roman Catholic Church, St. Katharine Drexel Parish, where she was an Altar Society member. She was also a member of American Legion Post 744 Ladies Auxiliary and Marianna Baseball Association.
On November 20, 1948, she married Rudolph V. “Rudy” Medved, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage, before his passing February 28, 1999.
Surviving are three sons, Andrew M. Medved of Marianna, Rudolph J. Medved (Nadine) of Washington and James Medved (Christine Blaine) of Washington; three grandchildren, Michael Medved, Rudolph Medved (Kimberly) and Natalie Medved; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a sister, Mary Lou Verna, and three brothers, Robert Fien, Dominic Fien and Paul Fien.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1728 Main Street, Marianna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 2, in Sts. Mary and Ann Roman Catholic Church, St. Katharine Drexel, Marianna Campus. Interment will be held in Horn Cemetery, Marianna.
