Charles W. Yarger
Charles W. Yarger, 92, of McMurray, died Saturday, October 28, 2017, in Paramount Senior Living Center, McMurray.
He was born June 16, 1925, in Pleasant Plains, Ohio, a son of the late Dorcie and Ella Mae Yarger.
Mr. Yarger was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in McMurray, United Methodist Men, Day Timers and Meridian Sun Lodge in Philadelphia.
He retired from Philadelphia Gas Works, where he worked in the customer service division, until 1987.
On November 20, 1945, he married Lois Elnora McAlpin, who died in 2005.
Mr. Yarger served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a staff sergeant from 1943 to 1946.
Surviving are a daughter, Jane E. (Dennis) D’Amico of Monongahela; two sons, Ronald G. (Sharon) Yarger of Morris Plains, N.J., and Larry C. (Margaret) Yarger of Cotopaxi, Colo.; a sister, Josephine Townsend of Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Michael (Sandra), Laurie, Lisa (Will Buxton), Michelle, Nathanael and Miriam Yarger, and Benjamin (Michelle), Andrew (Bethany), Elizabeth and Sarah D’Amico; and three great-grandchildren, Teagan and Rilynn Buxton and Noah Yarger-Montero.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 3, in Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Center Church Road, McMurray, with the Rev. Jeff Vanderhoff officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the church. A family graveside service will be held in Monongahela Cemetery.
