Donna E. Doncals
Donna E. Doncals, 80, of Washington, died Monday, October 30, 2017, in her home.
She was born September 8, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Elliott Byers and Catherine Toner.
Mrs. Doncals was a graduate of St. George High School in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood and Pinkerton Business College, Pittsburgh.
She worked as an airline flight attendant with American Airlines in her earlier years.
Mrs. Doncals was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Washington.
She was a member of American Airlines KIWI Club.
Mrs. Doncals was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of her children, grandchildren and extended family. She liked decorating and creating art through painting. She was also a former Girl Scout leader.
On February 24, 1962, she married Richard Allen Doncals Sr., who died January 27, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Richard A. (Kimberly) Doncals Jr. and Damon (Erin) Doncals, both of Washington; two daughters, Desiree E. (Martin Jakubow) Doncals, M.D., of Canton, Ohio, and Deborah E. Doncals of Canonsburg; a sister, Bridget E. Patrick of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Alexandra, Colette, Sarah Beth, Stephanie, Nicholas and Samantha; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 4, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. All attending should meet at the church.
Arrangements are entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
