Garnet Dennis Dunlap

Garnet Dennis Dunlap, 84, of Carmichaels, died peacefully Tuesday, October 31, 2017, in her home, with her family by her side.

She was born at home February 21, 1933, in Greensboro. She was a daughter of the late Abram A. and Muriel E. (Thomas) Dennis.

Mrs. Dunlap was a 1951 graduate of Cumberland Township High School and was one of the first telephone operators in Waynesburg in the early 1950s.

She enjoyed gardening and the company of her cat, Snoops.

Mrs. Dunlap was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

On August 11, 1956, she married Derwyn C. Dunlap, who died May 3, 2014.

Surviving are a son, Keith Dunlap of Dilliner, and two daughters, Beth Dunlap Darke and husband Roger and Susan Dunlap and companion Greg Betchy, all of Carmichaels; six grandchildren, Kevin Rohland and wife Melissa of Denbo, Alexis Armel of Uniontown, Miranda McFarland and husband Mike of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Kristen Newcomer of Carmichaels and Logan Dunlap and Landon Dunlap, both of Dilliner; two great-grandchildren, Brittany and David; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Harold Dennis and Wilbur Dennis, and a sister, Betty Brown.

There will be no public viewing or service.

Arrangements are entrusted to Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Carmichaels and Cumberland Township Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 123, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
