John L. White

John L. White, 88, of Crucible, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018, in Washington Health System Greene, Waynesburg.

He was born Sunday, November 17, 1929, in Fairview, W.Va., a son of the late Jesse C. White and Eulah Grady White.

Mr. White enjoyed hunting and bingo. He worked on B&O Railroad then later worked for Olan Madison Chemical in Baltimore, Md. as a mechanic.

His wife, Icie Gump White, whom he married October 30, 1951, died December 15, 1992.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Reha of Crucible and Joan Litten and her husband Melvin of Jefferson; two sons, John Richard White and wife Janet of Waynesburg and William Douglas White and wife Gloria of Jefferson; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister Bliss Boyers of Virginia state; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two daughters, Jane Lancaster-Huey and Sue McDermott; a grandson; five sisters; and two brothers.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, with Pastor Richard Berkey officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson.
