Harold L. Blayney

Harold L. Blayney, 76, of Peters Township, died Friday, April 6, 2018, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.

He was born in Claysville, a son of the late Harold H. and Frances Herrmann Blayney.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sue. He was the father of three sons, Timothy (Laurie), Steven (Missy) and Philip (Marisa), and proud grandfather of Sean, Caitlyn, Dallas, Noah and Madison. Also surviving is a brother, Robert (Jenette).

Deceased is a brother, Ronald.

Harold was a 1959 graduate of Claysville High School. He went on to obtain his bachelor of arts degree from Berea College and his master of science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years with tours in Korea and Vietnam.

Harold worked for Bettis Laboratory for 33 years, until his retirement in 2006.

He enjoyed quilting and attending quilt shows with his wife.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323, 724-663-7373, www.youngfhinc.com. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, in Claysville United Methodist Church, 1257 Route 40 West, Claysville, with Pastor Rico Vespa officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Claysville United Methodist Church.
