Joe Richard Huseman
Joe Richard Huseman, 83, of Washington, died Friday, April 6, 2018, in Washington Hospital.
He was born May 8, 1934, in Clover Hill, Washington County, a son of the late Frank Oliver Huseman and Bessie Hartley Huseman.
Mr. Huseman was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from February 3, 1955, until his honorable discharge February 1, 1957, as a private first class. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Huseman worked as a coal miner for Beth Energy Mines.
He loved a good joke and enjoyed mowing his fields, fishing, gardening and being with people and helping them. He also enjoyed many trips to Amish country and attending flea markets. Mr. Huseman restored and showed a 1967 Chevy Impala and had an extensive rooster and horse collection.
He was a member of Hart Avenue Church of the Nazarene and a volunteer at Christian Outreach.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four brothers, Frank, Fred, Harold and Wilber Huseman, and six sisters, Betty Shifler, Ellie Pipesh, Minnie Evans, Mary Luko, Edith Yeminoli and Doris Smith.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Monday, April 16, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. David Konecheck officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with military rites accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
