Stella Volkar
Stella Volkar, 94, of Finleyville, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
She was born December 14, 1923, in Melbourne, Australia, a daughter of Harry and Clarice McHutchison Hunter.
Mrs. Volkar was retired as a nursing aide at the former Woodville State Hospital.
She enjoyed line dancing and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville and Australian Women’s Social Club.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas P. Volkar of Donora, Jeffrey Volkar (Cindy) of Venetia and Bradley Volkar (Marcey) of Monongahela; a daughter, Susan Volkar of Eighty Four; six grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin, Leslie, Jessica, Emily and Lindsey; and six great-grandchildren, Kushal, Logan, Eli, Zachary, Archie and Elliott.
Deceased is her husband, Thomas D. Volkar, who died in May of 2007.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, in Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday April 14, in St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
