Sylvia M. Laschinsky McVehil
Sylvia M. Laschinsky McVehil, 72, of Washington, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018.
She was born September 1, 1945, in Washington, a daughter of the late Clyde A. Kennell and Jessie P. McCartney Kennell.
Sylvia graduated from Washington High School. She worked at GeeBees for many years and retired from Comfort Inn a few years ago.
She loved jigsaw puzzles, long rides, collecting porcelain dolls and clowns and enjoyed going to the casino.
On August 31, 1991, she married William Lester McVehil, who died February 4, 2018.
Surviving are three sons, John A. (Kellie) Laschinsky of Washington, Rich A. (Trudi Toward) Laschinsky of Washington and Michael G. (Amy) Laschinsky of Canonsburg; two brothers, Clyde E. Kennell of Columbus, Ohio, and Kenneth (Lillian) Kennell of Washington; two sisters, Ruby Tubb of Valejo, Calif., and Gloria (Roy) Plants of Avella; eight grandchildren, Johnathan M. Laschinsky, Alexandrea J. Haney, Jordan R. Laschinsky, Jessica Laschinsky, Savanna R. Laschinsky, Diamond D. Spencer, Brandon M. Snyder and Samantha J. Laschinsky; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Cathryn Bell, and a brother, Earnest Kennell.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Woodruff Memorial Park, North Strabane Township.
