David L. Vaglia
David L. Vaglia, 81, of Eighty Four, died Friday, April 13, 2018.
He was born March 1, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of James and Lena Bonomi Vaglia.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Vaglia was a member of National Pike Steam Gas Horse Association. He enjoyed farming and tractors and had a passion for raising his Hereford cattle. He loved taking trips with his family and especially fishing trips to Chautauqua Lake, N.Y.
On October 11, 1958, he married his loving wife of over 59 years, Mary Kay Kightlinger Vaglia, who survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Barry G. Vaglia and wife Robin of Scenery Hill and Neil L. Vaglia and wife Bonnie of Eighty Four; daughter Amy Y. Wiszczor and husband Joseph of Canonsburg; brother James Vaglia and wife Genevieve of Brentwood; sister Florence Boehme and husband George of McMurray; three grandchildren, Mariah, Mickayla and Noah; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, deceased is his sister, Jean Bracken.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, in the funeral home. Burial in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, will be private.
