Peggy Billie

Peggy Billie, 76, of Washington, formerly of Hickory, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, in Premier Washington Health Center.

She was born January 16, 1942, in Baltimore, Md., a daughter of Daniel and Myrtle Briscoe.

She was a graduate of Kenwood High School in Baltimore, followed by secretarial school.

She started her career as a secretary for Martin Marietta Corp. in Baltimore, where she met her husband, Andrew C. Billie Jr. and was married September 15, 1962.

Mrs. Billie also worked as a teller for Pittsburgh National Bank, owned and operated ARK Christian Book Store in Meadow Lands and Washington and worked as a local realtor.

She was a member of Central Assembly of God Church in Houston, a Girl Scout leader in Hickory and leader of Hickory Majorettes.

Surviving are a son, Daniel Billie and wife Leah of Washington; two grandchildren, Lauren Billie Hyland and husband Ryan and Tyler Andrew Billie; great-granddaughter Flynn Nicole Hyland; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are husband Andrew, who died January 2, 2017; daughter Michele Billie; and son Andrew Billie, who died in infancy.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 20, in Central Assembly of God Church, Houston, with the Rev. Susan Petritis, Chaplain of Gateway Hospice, officiating.
