James “Sonny” Allen, 81, of Washington, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, in his home.

He was born February 19, 1937, in Washington, a son of the late Lester and Olive Obney Rogers Allen.

Mr. Allen had worked as a machinist for Glen Carbide Inc.

Sonny was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 927 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22.

An avid pool player, he also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

On May 27, 1958, he married Ellamae Yolton, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, James Edward (Judi) Allen and John Wayne (Jackie) Allen, both of Washington; two daughters, Judith Anne Shrontz and Jody (Robb) Hamilton, both of Washington; two grandchildren, Ashley Allen and Cody Hamilton; a great-grandchild, Zoey Tilger; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are five brothers, Charles, William, Richard, Robert and Gerald Allen, and two sisters, Norma “Jean” Young and Betty Louise Keener.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services.
