Carole Ann Manspeaker Hudak
Carole Ann Manspeaker Hudak, 78, of Washington, died Monday, April 16, 2018, in Donnell House, Concordia Hospice of Washington, following a courageous battle with leukemia.
She was born July 9, 1939, in Braddock, a daughter of the late Ted and Kay McElroy Manspeaker.
Mrs. Hudak was a 1957 graduate of Shaler High School.
She worked for West Penn Power from 1973 to 1996, and later became employed as a switchboard receptionist at Observer Publishing Co. from 1999 until 2016, when she retired.
Mrs. Hudak enjoyed reading and puzzles. She was the matriarch of her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Her family meant everything to her. She “fought the good fight” and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
On April 18, 1959, she married Gene Hudak, who died December 26, 2016.
Surviving are two daughters, Tracy Hudak (Craig) Grucza of Dallas, Texas, and Shari A. Von Scio of Washington; a brother, Bill Manspeaker of Michigan; four grandchildren, Sean Eugene Grucza, Eric Stephen Grucza, Robert Anthony (Sara) Von Scio and Emily Hope Newman; and two great-grandchildren, Chaucer and Sebastian Von Scio.
She also leaves behind her beloved miniature dachshund, Tilley.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, is a sister, Patricia Cole.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, April 19, in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., corner of Wilson and East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. Entombment will be private in Washington Cemetery, Serenity Mausoleum.
