Ralph L. Thompson
Ralph L. Thompson, 79, of New Freeport, died Sunday, April 22, 2018.
He was born July 14, 1938, in Morris Township, Greene County, a son of the late James Leslie and Virginia Lee Toland Thompson.
Mr. Thompson served in the U.S. Army and lived all of his life in Greene County.
He worked for 22 years in the shipping department at West Penn Wire Co.
Ralph was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing and repairing small engines.
On December 6, 1968, he married Donna Lee Toland, who died January 7, 2006.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie Thompson of Greensboro and Brenda Lee Jones of New Freeport; four grandchildren, Jason and Brian Hennen and Krista and Bradley Moore; nine great-grandchildren; five brothers, Daniel and John Thompson, both of Sycamore, Harold “Jim” Thompson of West Alexander, Sam Thompson of Rutan and Thomas “Squirt” of West Finley; and two sisters, Bertha Kinney of Graysville and Sarah Keefer of West Alexander.
Deceased are two sons who died in infancy, Jason Lynn Thompson and Ralph L. Thompson Jr.; two brothers, James M. Thompson and Woodrow Earl Thompson; and a sister, Irma Henry.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Behm Funeral Home, 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, with Evangelist Samuel Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in Mount View Cemetery, Dallas, W.Va.
