Betty Rogene Forgen

Betty Rogene Forgen, 89, of Carmichaels, died Monday, April 23, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

Mrs. Forgen was born January 10, 1929, in McClellandtown, a daughter of Cuthbert and Ethel Linderman Shipley.

On March 5, 1947, Betty married Chester Forgen, who is deceased.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Parker of Staunton, Va., and Ethel Bedosky (John) of Carmichaels; two sons, Peter Forgen (Mary) of Carmichaels and Michael Forgen (Rhonda) of Smithfield; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret E. Ryeczek and Idell Brooks.

Deceased are four sons, Clinton, Chester, Ronald and Roy Lee Forgen, four brothers, Vincent, Clinton, Wayne and Norman; and five sisters, Evelyn H. Lambert, Loretta M. Fisher, Alvena D. Budia, Rosella McKenzie and Bertella Thacker.

Mrs. Forgen was a member of and former deacon at McClellandtown Presbyterian Church. She taught Sunday school for 39 years.

She enjoyed puzzles and Western movies.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, in Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320, 724-966-5100, where services will begin at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, April 28, with the Rev. Lee McDermott officiating. Burial will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McClellandtown Presbyterian Church, 292 Springer Road, McClellandtown, PA 15458.
