Helen Blazer Langhurst
Helen Blazer Langhurst, 96, of Gladden Heights, Cecil Township, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in Premier Health Center, Washington.
She was born February 26, 1922, in Enhaut, a daughter of Charles Carl and Magdaline Blanche Wilsbach Blazer.
She was a homemaker and member of Venice Presbyterian Church, where she was a church deacon and nursery worker and helped to lay the church cornerstone. She was a member of the former Miller Run Grange. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, making many Barbie doll clothes. She loved taking care of babies, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her three daughters, Linda Gottheld of Claysville, Patricia Langhurst of Mt. Lebanon and Elizabeth (Norm) Erbrecht of Eighty Four; son Chris E. (Paula) Langhurst Jr. of Roundup, Mont.; 11 grandchildren, Ann Malys, Shari Brownlee, Sean Langhurst, Wendy Nolan, Jennifer Stevens, Christa Boice, Michelle DallaPiazza-Zehawi, Kevin DallaPiazza, Adam and Chad Erbrecht and Renee Gunther; 20 great-grandchildren; and sister Cathy Jenkins of Moreno Valley, Calif.
She was preceded in death by husband Chris E. Langhurst Sr.; five brothers, Philip, Frank, Carl, Christ and Joe Blazer; and three sisters, Marie Durrman, Pauline Soutner and Ann Negley.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Rt.50, Cecil, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, with Pastor Gary Chorpenning officiating.
Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
