William George Buxton
William George “Bill” Buxton, 83, a lifelong resident of Langeloth, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 26, 2018, in Bridgeville Rehabilitation and Care Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 7, 1935, a son of the late Frank Leroy and Olive Pearl Cope Buxton.
Mr. Buxton was an active and faithful member of Langeloth Community Presbyterian Church, where he served in many capacities, including elder and treasurer. He also sang in the choir.
He was also a member of Burgettstown Richard Vaux Lodge 454, F&AM.
He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, where he was a clerk at the Follansbee, W.Va., plant.
His beloved wife of 59 years, Margaret Gill “Peg” Buxton, whom he married April 4, 1959, survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his three children, Tim Buxton and wife Lynn of Monument, Colo., Mark Buxton and wife Brandy of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, and Debbie Mioduski and husband Ed of Langeloth; nine grandchildren, Stephen Martin and wife Chantil, Tyler Martin, Elisabeth Mioduski, Hannah Buxton, Rachel Buxton, Joshua Buxton, Mary Grace Buxton, Britain Buxton and Danielle Page; three great-grandchildren, Marlee, Kingston and Oaklei Martin; his brother, Richard Buxton and wife Pat of Hemet, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Frances Lee “Bubba” Tennyson.
Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where a Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday evening. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, in Langeloth Community Presbyterian Church, 1421 Langeloth Road, Langeloth, PA 15054, with the Rev. William Roemer officiating. Everyone is kindly asked to go directly to the church Monday morning. He will be laid to rest in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory, followed by a luncheon and continuation of fellowship at Langeloth Community Center.
