Joseph Francis, 69, of Washington, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.

He was born January 17, 1949, in Washington, a son of the late Richard J. and Lilian Thomas Francis.

Mr. Francis was a 1967 graduate of Washington High School and a 1971 graduate of Grove City College, from where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

He worked as warehouse manager for Fairmont Supply Co. in Washington for 20 years. After retiring, he did tax preparation for many local individuals.

A strong supporter of Wash High football, Mr. Francis loved sports, especially football, and enjoyed coaching as well. He also enjoyed home improvement projects.

His children and grandchildren were most important to him.

A devout Catholic, Mr. Francis was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.

On January 25, 1975, he married Linda Eileen Lewandowski, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Joseph (Amy) Francis of Washington and Corey (Cara) Francis of South Fayette; a daughter, Jennifer (Matthew) McConnell of Tempe, Ariz.; a brother, Dr. William (Theresa) Francis of Westlake, Ohio; a sister, Linda (the late Stanley) McKavish of Washington; six grandchildren, Zoe McConnell, Hayden Francis, Aylah Francis, Lilianna Francis, Logan Francis and Jackson Francis; nieces Kathryn, Christine, Laura and Anne; and nephew David Jason Vankirk.

Deceased is a brother, Richard Francis.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with Father Dan Waruszewski as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, South Strabane Township.
