Frank Rhone

Frank Rhone, 77, of Monongahela, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.

He was born in Whitsett, September 25, 1940, a son of the late Frank Nichols and A. Beatrice Rhone Brown.

A 1958 graduate of Monessen High School, Frank served in the U.S. Army in 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. He retired as a draftsman for CV Engineering Co. in Pittsburgh.

He was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Monongahela, NRA, U.S. Concealed Carry Association and Valley Inn Sportsman’s Association.

Frank is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jaimie L. (Sheri) Rhone and Frank A. (Arlene) Rhone of Monongahela; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa M. (Greg) Macklin of Donora and Lisa M. (Anthony) Keith of Monongahela; sister Bertha Dixon of Monongahela; and six grandchildren, Sean L., Marcus A. and Isaiah Rhone, Adanna Maltony and Jacob and Clark Macklin.

He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Alan Rhone, who died in 1985, and two brothers, Archie and Nelson McCoy.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 700 West Main Street, Monongahela, PA 15063, with additional visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, August 24, at which time funeral services will begin, with the Rev. Mortty G. Ivy officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, with military honors conducted by U.S. Army funeral detail.
