Lois Eldena Powell, 89, of Washington, formerly of Eighty Four, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018, in Premier Washington Health Care, Chartiers Township.

She was born October 28, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of the late Kenneth J. Sr. and Margaret Hughes Mounts.

Mrs. Powell was a graduate of Washington High School.

For 35 years, she served as vice president of Frost Bank in San Antonio, Texas.

Lois was a longtime member of Edwards Chapel. She enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, crafts and painting.

Surviving are two children, Sherri Burnette (David Wooley) of Germany, Tom Burnette of San Antonio, Texas; grandson Richard Mounts (Karen) of Dallas, Texas; brother Thomas G. Burnette of Denton, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents are her first husband, Thomas Edward Burnette; her second husband, John Linn Powell; and brother Kenneth Mounts Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 23, in Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Eighty Four, with the Rev. Richard Roberts officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church, 3111 Route 136, Eighty Four, PA 15332.
