Carrie R. Bennett
Carrie R. Bennett, 66, of Washington, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
She was born December 25, 1951.
Mrs. Bennett was employed for 35 years as a psychiatric aide at Mayview State Hospital, from where she retired. She was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church, Washington, where she served as a deaconess. Mrs. Bennett was also a longtime member of Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center, where she attended daily.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Eddie Bennett Jr. of Washington; daughter Nakeisha A. Bennett of Ludowici, Ga.; stepdaughter Gretchen Richardson of Atlanta, Ga.; stepson Michael J. Edwards of Orlando, Fla.; brother Paul (Clarice) Robinson of Gadsden, Ala.; sister Alice Patterson of Eclectic, Ala.; three grandchildren; her 100-year-old aunt, Mrs. Annie Mae Wright; niece Victoria Wallace of Bridgeville, who was like a daughter to her; a special childhood friend, Lula Kelley of Eclectic; and two special friends, Lillie Mills and Pat Jacobs. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by four brothers, Willie, Calvin, Bennie Joe and Kerry, and by sister Jessie Mae.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of a funeral service, Monday, December 10, in Nazareth Baptist Church, 123 North Lincoln Street, Washington. The Rev. Eugene C. Beard Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
