Robert Shea Sr.
Robert “Bob” Shea Sr., 93, of Carmichaels, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018.
Bob was born March 21, 1925, in Filbert. He was a son of the late Leroy and Goldie Crutchley Shea and brother to Evelyn Marucci, Wendell, Carl, Jackie and Gloria Stefan Shea.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mary Bonenberger Shea, and his children, Lynn Waterman, Patricia Fahey, Robert Jr., Kimberly Fitzgerald, Sallie Valentine and Patrick Sean. Bob was a loving grandfather to Malachi, Erik and Brendon Waterman, Damian, Caleb and Meghan Fahey, Will and Melissa Shea, Timothy, Robert and Joseph Fitzgerald, Hannah, Emma and Ethan Valentine, Paige, Liam and Taggart Shea. He also had 12 great-grandchildren.
Bob graduated from Redstone Township High School in 1943 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy that year. He was a retired miner who worked for 40 years in Robena Mine. Bob was a loving and devoted husband and father, who enjoyed the outdoors and the company of his family.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, in Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, 724-966-5100. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 14, in St. Rosalia Catholic Church, Pittsburgh. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
