Roy Coates Edwards, 68, of Washington, died Friday, February 2, 2018, in his home.

He was born November 7, 1949, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Leroy Cox and Sinie May Coates.

Surviving are five sons, Jamaal, Rasool and Nate Edwards, and Gary Turner, all of Washington, and Rodney Edwards of Maryland; five grandchildren, Isaiah, Gionni, LaQuan, Shawnte and Malekhai Edwards; a sister, Regina Coates, a brother, Ronald Coates, and an aunt, Loretta Coates, all of Pittsburgh; and his longtime companion, Stella L. Edwards.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Larry Coates, and a sister, Patricia Coates.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 10, in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director.
