Dorothy Jean Crile Conkle
Dorothy Jean Crile Conkle, 94, of Washington, died Thursday, February 8, 2018, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
She was born May 29, 1923, in Amwell Township, a daughter of Harry H. and Nellie Mae Reeves Crile.
Mrs. Conkle was a graduate of Trinity High School. She worked at Woolworth, Duncan & Miller Glass, Singer Sewing Machines and Flis Five Bridal. She also did alterations on her own.
She was a 70-year member of Lone Pine Christian Church, where she served as deaconess for many years, sang in the choir and volunteered many hours.
Mrs. Conkle enjoyed playing cards and loved to dance. She belonged to the senior citizens center in Washington.
On March 4, 1943, she married Merle Dean Conkle, with whom she shared over 40 years of marriage before his passing January 11, 1986.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Jane Crile; brother Paul Crile; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a sister, Ruth Ann Davidson; and four brothers, Blain, Kenneth, Eugene and Roy Crile.
Family and friends will be received from 1 to 6 p.m., the time of services, Sunday, February 11, in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Pastor John Owens officiating. Interment will be private.
