She was born February 8, 1950, in Washington, a daughter of the late Kenneth “Red” and Catherine R. “Kadie” Spin Haught.
Mrs. Furbee lived most of her life in Houston and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg.

Family was the most important thing in Mrs. Furbee’s life. She followed her children in youth and high school sports, and later her granddaughter Samantha as she played softball for Chartiers-Houston High School and Canonsburg Lady Knights traveling team. She was looking forward to seeing her great-grandsons play ball, too.
Mrs. Furbee touched many lives and made many friends throughout her life. She lived by the Golden Rule and treated others the way she wanted to be treated, which she instilled in her children.
She was a member of Arden Athletic Club and volunteered at Canonsburg General Hospital. In addition, she worked part time in the South Central Elementary School cafeteria, where she enjoyed helping children with their lunches.
On February 23, 1981, she married her devoted husband of 36 years, Joseph M. Furbee, who survives.
