Scott Alan Armstrong, 61, of Anaheim, Calif., formerly of Houston, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, following a short illness.

He was a son of the late John E. and Helen Boyan Armstrong.

Mr. Armstrong grew up in Houston and lived there for most of his life, before moving out to California after the death of his parents.

He inherited his dry wit from his father and was always a source of pithy, witty comments at family gatherings.

Mr. Armstrong was a gifted athlete and scholar at Chartiers-Houston High School, from where he graduated in 1974, Massanutten Military Academy and Lehigh University.

He enjoyed sports and was a great Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Mr. Armstrong will be sorely missed by his siblings, Dennis J. (Alex) Armstrong of Norman, Okla., Diane Armstrong (Larry Simmons) of Providence Forge, Va., and John T. (Corinne) Armstrong of Mission Viejo, Calif., and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who were important in his life.

Interment will be private.
