Brian Scott Thompson
Brian Scott Thompson, 48, of Washington, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018, unexpectedly in his home.
He was born December 31, 1969, in Washington, son of the late Ralph Alva Thompson and Laura Jane McMurray, who survives.
Mr. Thompson was a 1988 graduate of Washington High School and a 1995 graduate of University of Pittsburgh, where he obtained a degree in electrical engineering.
He worked in information technology for Tobii Dynavox and currently for Development Dimensions International Inc.
Mr. Thompson was a member of Church of the Covenant.
On August 9, 1996, in Scenery Hill, he married Kate Haines, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are son Ricky Thompson of Washington; daughter Maggie Thompson of Washington; two brothers, David Fisher of Washington and Ralph Alan (Karma Edwards) Thompson; two sisters, Brenda (Jeff) Mastro of Avinger, Texas, and Dawn Thompson of Lufkin, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of services, in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with the Reverend Dr. Stuart D. Broberg officiating. All other services will be private. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of choice.
