Gary Lynn Scott
Gary Lynn Scott, 69, of Waynesburg, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018, in Louis A. Johnson Veterans Health Administration Medical Center in Clarksburg, W.Va.
He was born July 17, 1948, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Charles and Lillian Price Scott.
He was a graduate of Waynesburg Central High School.
Mr. Scott was a retired coal miner for Humphrey Mine.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; and Marksman. Mr. Scott also served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for 17 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry Fuller of Waynesburg and Terri Madlock (Ryan) of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Austin Fuller-Scott, Kaile Fuller, Makenzie Fuller, Zachary Madlock and Tyler Madlock; brother Terry Scott of Waynesburg; sister Sharon Matthews (Dave) of Stevens; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased is a brother, Thomas Scott.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, February 24, with the Rev. Richard Berkey officiating followed by interment in Rosemont Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 330 and the U.S. Army.
