Deloras T. Rice

Deloras T. Rice, 97, of Waynesburg, died Saturday, February 24, 2018, in Casa Grande, Ariz., in her daughter Millie’s home.

She was born November 5, 1920, in Mannington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Harry H. and Mildred Renshaw Thomas.

Mrs. Rice was a 1937 graduate of Center Township High School and had also attended Fairmont (W.Va.) State College. She lived most all of her life in Greene County.

She was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church and at one time a member of several bridge card clubs.

Mrs. Rice was recognized by the commonwealth of Pennsylvania for her 50-plus years of perfect voting attendance.

On November 25, 1943, she married Edward Rice, who died January 9, 1992.

Surviving are a son, Tom Rice of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Millie (Odie) Rohanna of Waynesburg and Nancy (John) Ivy of Livingston, Texas; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Brandon) Rice-Bailey, Jennifer DeLyca, Amy (James) Beller and Matthew (Madelyn) Rice, all of Wisconsin, Michelle (Tim) Cost of Southport, N.C., Melissa (Eric) Kindervater of Waynesburg, Becky (Tony) Diep of Houston, Texas, and Edward (Ilyn) Karshin of Walter, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren, including two very special great-grandchildren in her life, Kohl and Emma Kindervater; two great-great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.

Deceased are a stepson, James Morris Rice, and a grandson, Scott Thomas Rice.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Behm Funeral Home, 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, followed by interment in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
