Eugene Paul King
Eugene Paul King, 67, of 140 Osprey Drive, Edenton, N.C., passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017, in his home, where he was surrounded by family.
Mr. King was born November 14, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, a son of the late Orion Morris and Margaret Mary Kacsuta King.
He was a graduate of Waynesburg College with a bachelor of science degree in history education.
Mr. King was a retired Pennsylvania state trooper, attaining the rank of corporal and served on the Special Emergency Response Team. After that distinguished career, he worked in Iraq for two years as a private contractor.
His life’s hobbies were exercise and fitness, cooking, motorcycling and traveling.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 35 years, Clara Buchanan King; daughter Carrie Malkmus and husband Peter and their children, Dylan, Zackary, Cade, Luke and Faith, all of Harriman, Tenn.; daughter Andrea Buchanan of Waynesburg; a sister, Marilyn King of Ocala, Fla.; two brothers, Thomas King and wife Carole of Louisville, Ky., and Timothy King of Waynesburg; and two nephews, Ryan King and wife Nikki and their daughter, Grace, all of Buffalo, N.Y., and Thad King and wife Mallery and their children, Noah, Dominic and Leila, all of Waynesburg.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Edenton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. W. Christopher Aydlett officiating. Friends may join the family in the fellowship of the church immediately following the service, or all other times at the residence. A burial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg.
