William Schlaupitz

William Schlaupitz, 89, of Silver Spring Township, Mechanicsburg, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, in his home.

He retired as safety director for Consolidated Coal Co., Pittsburgh.

Mr. Schlaupitz was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Korean War.

He was an avid trap shooter and member of Washington Sportsmen Association.

He was born December 21, 1928, in Washington, a son of the late Alfred and Julia Korbeley Schlaupitz.

Also deceased are two brothers.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Helen B. Britton Schlaupitz; a son, William K. and wife Victoria Schlaupitz of Eloy, Ariz.; two daughters, Gloria “Dorbi” Sullivan of Bristow, Va., and Linda Maliniak and husband Dr. Keith Maliniak of Lewisberry; Ruby May of Bristow, who was like a daughter to him; a sister, Eleanor Boyles of Washington; a grandson; three granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.

Private entombment will be held in Washington Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
