Evelyn Jean Ganchuk

Evelyn Jean Ganchuk, 81, of McDonald, went to be with her Lord Monday, January 1, 2018, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 24, 1936, in McDonald, a daughter of James and Lillian Patterson Robertson.

Mrs. Ganchuk was a 1954 graduate of McDonald High School. She worked at several local businesses, including Bard’s in McDonald.

On June 19, 1954, she married Fred Ganchuk, who survives.

Mrs. Ganchuk was a member of Independent Bible Presbyterian Church, McDonald. She loved gambling at casinos, reading and going on family vacations.

Surviving are two daughters, Alicia (Dennis) Slovick and Tammy (Robert) McDowell, both of McDonald; two sons, Fred E. (Naomi) Ganchuk of Bethel Park and Douglas J. Ganchuk of McDonald; nine grandchildren, Nathaniel Mattern, Emily Demkowicz, Lillian and Alexis Ganchuk, Paula Marin, Dennis and Chad Slovick and Jim and Katie McDowell; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057, where services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 4. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
