Joseph Louis Piazza
Joseph Louis Piazza, 87, of Southview, died Monday, January 1, 2018, in Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
He was born June 21, 1930, in Herminie, a son of the late Joseph and Teresa Mezzorabba Piazza Sr.
Mr. Piazza served in the U.S. Navy around the Korean war time.
He was a member of St. Mary Parish and a former member of Holy Angels Church, Southview, where he was caretaker of the church. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, a Southview and Hickory volunteer fireman, and Southview baseball coach and manager.
Mr. Piazza worked as a tester for McGraw-Edison.
Surviving are a son, Dominick “Mick” (Juliana) Piazza of Southview; two daughters, Theresa Piazza of Carnegie and Victoria Piazza of Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandchildren, Christina (Ryan) Robertson of Crafton and Talia Piazza of Pittsburgh; and a great-grandchild, Madison Robertson of Crafton.
Deceased are his wife, Mary Lou Piazza; four brothers, Felix, John, Emil and Bill Piazza; and a sister, Eleanor Ravitz.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Rt.50), Cecil, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 5, with Fr. Stan Gregorek officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, Peters Township.
