Judith W. Painter
Judith W. Painter, 91, of Smithton, devoted wife and mother, passed on peacefully Wednesday, December 27, 2017.
She was born June 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Claudius and Gertrude Wansor of Hempstead, Long Island, N.Y.
On June 29, 1946, she married Jack Painter. They first met when he was stationed on Long Island, then shared their life together for 65 years.
Surviving are four children, Wayne (Sandy) of Minnesota, Scott (Marilyn) of Smithton, Susan Paul of Waynesburg and Jackie Hepler of Smithton; 11 grandchildren, Gene and Britt Painter, Alta Painter Schaffer, Zack, Amity and Callie Paul, Matthew and Patricia Painter and Eli, Emma and Greta Hepler; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Painter received love and care from the staff of TLC (the name says it all) and comfort and support from Amedysis Hospice.
A memorial service to celebrate both Mr. and Mrs. Painter is planned for summer 2018.
