Elaine H. Wood
Elaine H. Wood, 86, of Waynesburg, died at 4:18 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, due to injuries sustained from a fall at home.
She was born Thursday, January 22, 1931, in Carmichaels, a daughter of the late Evan Hart and Mary Emma Mt. Joy Hart.
She was a lifelong resident of Greene County. She was a member of Oakview United Methodist Church in Waynesburg. She enjoyed square-dancing, spending time with her dogs and cat and was an avid bird feeder. She worked as a secretary for the Central Greene School District for many years, and later worked the front desk for Greene County Career Link.
She is survived by her daughter, Autumn Joanne Wood Laskody and husband Randy of Waynesburg; three granddaughters, Carly Kahl, Megan Granata and Elaine Wood; eight great-grandchildren; sister Catherine Hart of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are son Robert G. Wood Jr., sister Louise Mark and her former husband, Robert “Scopy” Wood Sr.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Monday, January 8, 2018, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with the Rev. Susan Hoover officiating. Burial will be held in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, PA 15370.
