Pauline Hazel Stone, 97, of Burgettstown, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born January 6, 1920, in Claysville, a daughter of the late Isaac and Bessie Gayhart Joseph.

Mrs. Stone was a homemaker and retired from Brooke County School District, where she worked in the cafeteria. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting.

She married Leonard Stone, who died January 27, 1978.

Surviving are her daughter, Sheila Stone Mirich and husband Michael of Burgettstown; her son, Larry Stone and wife Amy of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter-in-law Sandra Stone of Washington; three grandchildren, James Stone of Washington, Jennifer Christensen and Jamie Speegle, both of Albuquerque; five great-grandchildren, Michael Stone of Washington, Makenzie and Aaron Christensen, Cannon and Dodger Speegle, all of Albuquerque.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Cindy Stone; a son, Ronald Stone; and two brothers, William and Charles Joseph, who died in infancy.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 10. Interment will follow in Independence Cemetery, Avella.
