Carl William Fetcko

Carl William “Bill” Fetcko, 68, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, January 11, 2018, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg, following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. In order to help others, he donated his brain to Parkinson’s research.

He was born May 16, 1949, in Canonsburg, a son of Carl A. and Florence Griffin Fetcko.

Mr. Fetcko was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg. He also served on North Strabane Township Zoning Board for many years.

He started his working career in transportation at Western Center. He later became a transportation manager at Woodville State Hospital and retired from PennDOT Engineering District 11.

Mr. Fetcko enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling one of his many jokes. He loved vacationing at the family camp in Mageetown. He enjoyed shooting pool, working on his cars, riding his motorcycle and being an all around “Mr. Fix It.” He also enjoyed gardening, swimming, exercising and taking long walks with his wife.

On September 17, 1983, he married his loving wife, Linda Diane Lustic, who survives.

Also surviving are daughters Jodi Kubit and husband Ed of Mt. Lebanon and Shannon Muraco and husband Jim of Carnegie; sons Shawn Fetcko and wife Sara of Bridgeville and Carl Fetcko Jr. and wife Kari of North Strabane; brother Tom Fetcko of Canonsburg; sister Margie Mahramus and husband Nick of Canonsburg; seven grandchildren, Lilly, Eddie and Molly Kubit, Alexis and Zachary Keyes and Emily and Matthew Fetcko; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Fetcko also anticipated the birth of another grandchild, baby Muraco, due in June.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, Joe Fetcko.

The staff of 365 Hospice and TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center provided Mr. Fetcko with loving care.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000. An additional visitation will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m., the time of departing prayers, Monday, January 15, in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg. Interment will be private.
