Ethel M. Kolovich

Ethel M. Kolovich, 95, of Houston, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 11, 2018, in Premier Healthcare of Washington.

She was born May 24, 1922, in Avella, a daughter of the late Louis and Katherine Siders Kendo.

Mrs. Kolovich lived in Houston since 1953 and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg.

She was once employed at the former Canonsburg Pottery Co. and was a member of Slovene National Benefit Society Lodge 138, Strabane.

On June 28, 1947, she married Frank “Duck” Kolovich, who passed away January 19, 1990.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her only son, Martin L. (Diane) Kolovich of Houston; three grandsons, Martin (Holly) Kolovich Jr., Michael (Bronwyn) Kolovich and Mathew (Misty) Kolovich; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are two brothers, Leonard and Robert Kendo, and a sister, Betty Mulshen.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a Catholic blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 16. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
