Robert Keith Efaw, 90, of Rices Landing, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, in Life Care Center of Altamonte Springs, Fla., following a brief illness.

He was born October 27, 1927, in Rices Landing, one of three children of Thomas L. Efaw and Florence Neal Efaw. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Efaw “Ink” and a sister, Gloria Efaw Roberts.

Mr. Efaw was a long-standing member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church of Rices Landing, where he served as both a deacon and an elder.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy in the Command Center on board the USS Oregon City. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as assistant lockmaster of Maxwell Lock and Dam on the Monongahela River.

His beloved wife, Phyllis Carol Petersen Efaw, whom he married October 3, 1950, passed away April 12, 2000.

Surviving are his two daughters, Kerry Grimm and Leigh Gardner; three grandsons, Michael Grimm, Shen Sabo and John Ashlock and wife Leann; granddaughter Katie Grimm Daugherty and husband Michael; six great-grandchildren, Bodie Daugherty, Kristie Ashlock, Shauna Ashlock, Thomas Ashlock, Mark Ashlock and Lauren Ashlock; and two great-great-grandchildren, Preston and Emerie.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, with the Rev. Dr. Donald P. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Hewitt Cemetery, Rices Landing.
