John A. Rapacuk

John A. “Jake” Rapacuk, 78, of McDonald, Robinson Township, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

He was born May 22, 1939, in McDonald, a son of the late Andy and Edith Baker Rapacuk.

Mr. Rapacuk was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church and was a retired plant operator with PA American Water. He was a member of McDonald Sportsman Club, Washington County Sportsman’s League and McDonald Rod and Gun Club. He was a volunteer with Montour Trail and Community Meals On Wheels. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his daughters, Melissa (Don) Godfrey of McDonald and Holly (Geoff) Rapacuk of N.C., and grandchildren Ashley and Madison Godfrey of McDonald.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Kerekes Rapacuk (1992), and sisters Constance L. Rapacuk, Edith Libert, Doris DeValkeener and Charlotte Brinkman.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, 724-926-2800, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 22. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Meals On Wheels, 119 Station Street, McDonald, PA 15057.
