Frank R. Bysick Jr.

Frank R. Bysick Jr., 73, of Houston, died Sunday, January 28, 2018, in UPMC- Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.

He was born June 24, 1944, in Harlingen, Texas, a son of the late Frank R. and Sara Puskar Bysick.

Mr. Bysick was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Washington.

He proudly served his country during the Vietnam era with the U.S. Air Force.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bysick worked as a machinist for Frazier-Simplex.

He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed going to local car cruises. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially going to his grandsons’ hockey games and watching his granddaughter perform at football games.

Mr. Bysick was a founding member of New Life Church, where he was active with its Men’s Group and was a greeter at both the Canonsburg and Washington churches.

Surviving are a son, Scott Bysick and wife Jill of Perrysburg, Ohio; a daughter, Tammi Wessel and husband Jerry of Houston; a sister, Joyce Shaffer of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Riley Bysick, Xander Bysick, Morgan Wessel, Nathaniel Dawson and Nicholas Tudi; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Maxine Louise Bysick, who passed December 17, 2015; a daughter, Terri Jobkar; a sister, Bonnie Lindley; and two brothers, Dennis Brillo and Albert Brillo.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 1, with Pastor Nathan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military rites accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard.
