James Kita
James Kita Sr., 83, of Washington, died Monday, January 29, 2018, in his home.
He was born September 12, 1934, in Duquesne, a son of James and Alice Wargo Kita.
Mr. Kita was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
He retired from Allegheny Ludlum after 30 years of service.
Mr. Kita served in the U.S. Army.
He was an avid fan of Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In 1952, he married the love of his life, Mary Kler, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Peggy (Tony) Bell of Washington; three sons, Garry C. (Cathy) Kita of Washington, Larry Kita of Meadow Lands and James S. (Susan) Kita Jr. of Prosperity; three sisters, Alice E. Thomas and Barbara E. Woleslagle, both of Washington, and Helen Kazlauski of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Frank J. Kita, and two brothers, Joseph and Stephen Kita.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Full military honors will be afforded by U.S. Army and American Legion Post 175.
