A. Robert Capiola
A. Robert “Bob” Capiola, 77, of Morgantown, W.Va., passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, in his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born February 6, 1940, in Canonsburg.
Mr. Capiola was a 1957 graduate of Canonsburg High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on the Fourth of July 1957.
After serving in the USMC, he obtained his bachelor of economics degree from West Virginia University. He then had a long career in banking, most notably as a bank examiner for the FDIC.
He was an avid reader, sports fan and music lover.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Janet Haines Capiola of Morgantown; daughter Jennifer (Capiola) Caldwell and husband Todd, and grandson Samuel, all of Newman, Ga.; son Robert Capiola and wife Simchah of Pittsburgh; mother Ann Barbara Capiola of Canonsburg; brother Richard Capiola of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and sister Catt Capiola George of Canonsburg.
Mr. Capiola was preceded in death by his father, A.J. Capiola.
The staff at Mary Babb Cancer Center, WVU Hospital and Amedisys Hospice, provided him with care and support.
Friends are invited to come and take part in celebrating his life from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, February 3, in McCulla Funeral Home, Morgantown. Military honors will be conferred by the Marine Corps League, Detachment 342, at 6 p.m.
